"Don't Nail Me Down"
So this could be a nurse of people worshipping you old. Giving you all the Reverend soon.
And all the glory.
The lord of the message to someone today, alarm.
The ultimate reference.
There is none other.
There is no nothing.
Thank you.
Someone here today.
Directions.
Set them on the narrow path of Life movie.
Touchdown Lord, reach out to them.
Let them pick up your cross and follow you.
Teach them to be whatever for them to be content.
Everywhere. And all things. I have learned both to be full, let you be hungry.
Where you can do all things. Christ.
How big do G?
Thank you, brother.
You know, we come here and we worship and we sing the songs and
Appraised, and reverence.
But do we really want to be nailed down to the cross?
Need my messages. Don't nail me down.
Mark 8:34 citizen. We need to call the people unto him with his disciples. Also. He said unto them. He says whoever will come after me let him deny himself and take up his cross. And follow me.
John 20 24. 25 says, what time is one of the 12 called didymus was not with them? When Jesus came the other disciples, therefore, it sent it to him. We have seen the Lord. But he said it to them except I shall see in his hands, the prints of the nails and put my finger into the prince of the nails and thrust, my hand into his side. I will not believe.
And then he said to Thomas reach hitters. I finger and behold my hands. In reach his as I hand and thrust it into my side. And be not faithless. but believing
We have become an insatiable generation. We never seem to be satisfied with what we have, no matter how much we accumulate. It seems we never have enough. The more we have, the more we want. Each generation seems to raise the commitment, the contentment level. And with every new technical advancement that comes, we need more and more things to satisfy us. My parents generation didn't know more than maybe one TV in the home. And maybe one car for the family. And maybe one whole chicken, for Sunday dinner, or maybe one whole state that we could.
What's this generation?
Growing up with a TV in each room.
$1,000 iPhone upgraded every other year. Doordash account food delivered to their front door.
When I was growing up, we didn't have computers.
But the young ones today complaining because they don't have the latest in the greatest.
But Paul said, I've learned in whatever state I am to be content. He's not looking back. Paul continues to write everywhere and all things I have learned to be both full and hungry. There's No Remorse, and there's no bitterness. In these words, Paul continues to tell us I can do all things through Christ. Who strengthens me.
You see the secret of contentment is found in Jesus Christ. Not in man's newest invention. Not in creature. Made Comfort. Not in the newest, Tekno ways, not in the accumulation of wealth. Nor in the world, newest VA map. It's only accepting what God has given us. You see, God has given us the opportunity to serve him with all our hearts, with all our minds, with all the be qualified to serve as a servant of king of kings and Lord of lords.
We are called to serve him by obedience and sacrifice.
This may be foreign. Some of the world's thinking. Yet, it is. The only way we can truly live for God. It's a wonderful concept to know that we can live for God. Oh.
But for some strange reason, which the Bible called love. Our God made a provision for our salvation.
By using the horrible and Despicable.
Application of the cross. You see in biblical days. The cross was solely intended for corporal punishment. Only design for pain and design Ultimate Death.
Yes. The cross was the corporal punishment of the day. To be nailed. By your hands to be nailed by your feet.
That wasn't bad enough. To have your ankles broken so you couldn't stand on the little platform.
The lungs would soon. Fill up with fluid.
Death by the cross. Was a horrible, horrible death?
But God understood the plan that he need me to bring around salvation. It would require a radical method. You see, sin was powerful.
And a punishment for sin was horrible. So in order to override the power of sin, God needed something more powerful. Do you write the nature of sin and healing life? Here was going to have to take something Beyond reasoning. It would require commitments beyond the norm.
Lacrosse. Chose. The Crosman pain, the cross that men suffering, the cross, that meant embarrassment, the cross that brought shame. Lacrosse, that brought death. You see no one wanted to be associated with a cross back in those days. They didn't have them hanging from their neck.
You see today? It's acceptable to have a cross in your presence. It's acceptable to have a cross around your neck. It's acceptable to have a cross hanging on the wall. It's made out of jewelries. It's pictures of them. It's truly fashionable for a Christian to wear a cross. In fact, we don't even mind singing about a cross.
It's because we are no longer Touch by the pain. We have not lost a loved one.
By the cross. We have not seen a brother died, a father died.
We should have no tears when we see the cross. We shed no tears cuz we don't feel the pain.
Jesus says, Everyone had a cross. And if a person wanted to follow him, he would have to take up his cross and follow him. It's a position for each and everyone of us. Jesus spoke of a total commitment, even to the point of death. You must take up your cross and follow me.
So, why was it so harsh?
It's because he knew what lay the head. For each and every one of the selected disciples you understood of a life following would not be a simple life. It would require more than one might be willing to give
For them. It cost them dearly. Their lives. And imprisonment.
Listen to me. You're a typical lifespan of a 70 year old person.
It's appalling to say the least.
We spent 26 years sleeping.
We spent 16 years working. It's been 8 years. Watching TV. 6 years, eating. 6 years traveling. Four and a half years of leisure. You see where I'm going yet?
We're sick for years out of her life, if we make it to 70 years old.
It's been 2 years, getting dressed in the morning and evening. Figure it out. It's your calculators house.
And just over a half a year of our life. Is dedicated to some religious activity?
Figured out. 60 years, 90 minutes a week.
Where are your priorities?
It's acceptable to be religious, but you committed. It's fashionable to go to church, but don't get too involved.
if I'm going to be the man or woman that God requires me to be, it's going to have to take some rearranging of my life. Nail me down. God. I got to set some priorities here. Sports Hobbies job. Marriage television. Social media time. Are your working with me people. The activities could not stand between you and your lord.
People cannot stand between you and your God.
Your ideas and personal feelings. Cannot stand between you and your God.
It's okay to handle the cross. Don't know. I might have to give up everything except you.
Don't have to surrender. My will in my way. Define his will and his way.
I will have to obey, regardless of my personal interpretation of the scriptures. You know, how we get, pretty selective when we're reading the Bible, what seems to fit our life and what doesn't. Don't nail me down, please God.
If you could do anything in this world, what would you ask for? You see David clearly tells us. He longed to live in the house of God. One thing I have desired of the Lord that I will seek after that. I might dwell in the house of the Lord, all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord.
You say yes to live in the house of God. David doesn't want to chat a little while. He doesn't want to drink a cup of coffee in the morning on the veranda. He doesn't ask him to join them for meal in the evening. Do you watch the move in with him forever? And he doesn't want to be temporarily stationed there with him.
He longs to retire there. He doesn't secret temporary assignments. His desires to be nailed down with God forever.
So, I challenge someone here today? To accept the call of Christ.
Don't just feel it. Just don't take pictures of it. Just don't admire it.
Lay down on it. And when your nail to the Cross, you can't get up and run away.
That's the challenge.
The challenge is, I want you to be nailed to the cross.
Get the nails out.
Remove the hammer from the tools out.
Let me hear the ringing. once again of the nails,
Etsy, attach the cross to your life.
I want to follow him.
There is a life of surrender. Pursue its hunt for it. Still out the world for it. Don't listen to the wines of those would have settled for a second-rate life. Just watching and observing.
Get committed to your church. Get too committed to Christ. Lay your life down and God will fill you with more lights than you can handle.
The options are clear.
On one side is the voice of safety that says, don't get too involved.
You can build us a fire in your home of your life. Stay warm inside. Stay safe, inside. Stay dry. Or you can listen to the voice of the Cross and God's voice saying instead of building that fire in your house, build a fire in your heart. Follow him with your cross. Because you carry, you will see God.
You on the streets of gold, only a surrendered life. Will you enjoy the Mansion? Only a dedicated life? Will you stand around the throne? Only this endless will bask in his presence.
You see God's not going to keep secrets from you. He tells us the narrow road of life, that we will have difficulties. Then we will have troubles disease, will affect our bodies. He tells us divorce will break our hearts. That's will make widows and widowers of us.
And Devastation will destroy our nation.
Truck. Everything. You're seeing your worries, your troubles, your cares. Your bondage is your burden and she nailed him to the cross.
And buy nail them to the cross. He stripped the powers of those who are against us.
The enemy is powerless. Any remains triumphant to this day over sin in the powers of hell? And to anyone who would Avail themselves to the power of calvary?
How to tell if you want to lay yourself down on the cross hits, then you nail your problems to the Cross, then you nail your difficulties to the cross and then you nail your levels to the cross stitch. Then you nail your weaknesses to the Cross his Stern, you know, your pain center cross. Your burdens, your fears all, get nailed to the cross, your anxieties down, the cross, your struggle, stay on the cross your Temptations. Stay nailed to the cross stitch. The only way to resolve things from this eternal reward that you are too.
It's the only way. Don't resist.
Being nailed to the cross.
Oh Christ had to do is whisper. Get me down.
But he said it must be completed.
And while we are holding back, while we are, holding back from making this total of commitment, eternity, accepts another and it's accepting another and it's accepting another. We need to be nailed down, quit flirting with the world's. We need to be nailed down. Stop associating yourself with since we need to be nailed down the street from spiritual, come from
What is happening in your life today? That you would not have accepted a couple years ago. What's happening in this world that we're just standing by and accepting happened right in front of us. What are you doing against the will of God? Now that you would never allowed in the past, ask yourself these questions plan for your life.
And his brother, Chris saying, I will cherish The Old Rugged Cross. Till my trophies At Last, I lay down.
And exchange it someday. For a crown. It's the song is correct, and I believe it is. I want to be nailed to the cross, just to have something to exchange with a crown. This is the only thing you can get to receive your reward.
Do nail me down was the name of my message, but overall nails.
Eternally.
I will.
Do you wash mushrooms and love?
Will it rain?
God bless you.
Rugged Cross. I will.
EBay.
Do my home. Far away. Rivers Glory marriage, glow.
